Understand Your Bill

Your bill reflects your personal electric usage habits. Bills can vary significantly from month to month and are affected by weather, appliance efficiency, home insulation, the number of days in the billing cycle and other factors.

Due Date

Your utility bill is due upon receipt and becomes delinquent within three to four weeks from the time your meter is read. The exact date, which is indicated on your bill, depends on your individual billing cycle and the number of days in the month.

Late Charges

If your payment reaches us after the delinquent date shown on your bill, late charges of $3.50 per month or 1.5% of the total past due balance, whichever is greater, will be charged.

Returned Checks

If your check is returned, a fee will be added to your account, along with the unpaid bill. You'll have ten days to redeem the check with cash, money order, cashier's check from a bank or credit card to avoid disconnection and six days if the returned check is a 2nd returned check within a 12 month period. If service is disconnected, you must pay the check in full and a reconnection charge will be added on your bill.

Delinquent Bills

To avoid disconnection of your utility service (or additional service charges which may occur as a result of disconnecting your service), please be sure that we receive past-due payments prior to 4:00 pm on the date indicated on your utility bill.

Financial Problems

If you are having temporary financial difficulties and are unable to pay your bill, let us know. For customers with six months of established credit, we can offer one payment extension every 90 days to help during a financial crisis. You can set-up payment arrangements with our online services.
