Lakeland Electric’s Heating and Cooling Rebate provides a $400 incentive for replacing your old inefficient air conditioning system with a new, energy-efficient heat pump that meets our energy saving standards. This program is available to all residential customers that are replacing central air and heat systems.

Process:
The Rebate is available to residential customers that replace an existing resistance heat system, or an existing heat pump with a high-efficiency heat pump. The installation must be completed by a licensed HVAC contractor. The customer must provide a receipt listing the model and SEER of the unit installed. A copy of the receipt should be mailed to Energy and Business Services, 501 E. Lemon St., Lakeland, FL 33801. The rebate is $400 and will be applied as a credit to the electric account. The following criteria must be met to qualify:
- A minimum Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of 15 for split systems and 14 for package units.
- The maximum supplemental strip heating shall not exceed two (2) kilowatts (kW) per nominal ton.
- On a system less than 2.5 tons, a 5 kW heat strip is acceptable.
Eligibility:
- Must be a residential Lakeland Electric customer
- Valid on replacement of electric central heating and cooling units with a minimum of SEER 15 Heat Pump (straight air unit allowed with gas heat and 14 SEER for package units).
- Rebates are subject to change without notice
- Rebates are subject to approval and contingent to fund availability
- Limit to one (1) rebate per central unit per location
- Available for replacement of existing unit, not new construction.
