It’s here again. June 1st through November 30th is Florida’s official hurricane season. We know these terrible storms can be unpredictable and devastating in their power and ability to cause damage. They have left our homes and businesses without power for hours, days and even weeks.

We know that being prepared early and being constantly watchful during a threat is critical. There’s no excuse for us not to be prepared for this year’s storm season. Rest assured Lakeland Electric is planning for the safety and repair of damage to the community’s electrical system and restoration services to you.

During a hurricane, Lakeland Electric implements its own in-house Emergency Operations Plan. Part of this plan involves the monumental job of restoring utility equipment and electric service to our customers. We do everything humanly possible to quickly and safely achieve restoration as soon as the storm danger passes. Once again, we implemented lessons learned from previous hurricane seasons and continuously refine our plan.
