Lakeland Electric to Close Downtown Payment Office
Lakeland Electric’s downtown payment office located at 501 East Lemon Street will permanently close effective October 1, 2008. The City of Lakeland Utility Committee recently voted 11-3 to follow staff recommendations to close the downtown payment lobby and drive thru.

Lakeland Electric To Implement Fuel Increase
The Lakeland City Commission voted today (6/16/08) to increase the fuel charge for Lakeland Electric customers. The current fuel charge for residential customers is $63.80 per 1,000 kWh and effective July 1, 2008 the charge will increase to $72.70 per 1,000 kWh.
