LAKELAND, FL (September 8, 2015) — Lakeland Electric (LE) has a long history of developing solar projects in the community. It started in 1994 when LE launched a solar street light project and continues today with the recent completion of the Bella Vista Solar Farm in Northwest Lakeland. And, by the beginning of 2016, two more solar farms will be built in Lakeland. --- one on East Main Street near Combee Road and Reynolds Road and the second on Medulla Road by the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport.
This means by the beginning of 2016, LE will have a total of six solar locations generating over 20 megawatts of power --- that is enough to power 7000 houses when the sun is shining on a
summer day! #PublicPower #BuildingStrongerCommunities.
